She gave herself the arduous task of returning to the catwalk just a mere eight weeks after giving birth to her second child.
But Adriana Lima was certainly determined to rise to the challenge.
And now the 31-year-old has demonstrated the gruelling exercise regime she went through in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.
The Brazilian beauty climbed into the ring with her trainer, former professional boxer Michael Olajide, who co-founded the AeroSpace fitness studio in New York.
She revealed that she worked out an astonishing six hours a day in five weeks before the show.
The raven-haired supermodel did the training in two three hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening, as soon as she got the green light from her doctor.
'The doctor gave me the okay about three weeks after I gave birth and literally two days after that I started working out -- every single day, two times a day,' she explained. 'Until the night before the show.'
Adriana said that when she discovered boxing, she knew it was the right exercise for her.
'I discovered boxing, accepting that it is great for the body, wonderful for the mind and it give you the best shape ever,' she said. 'It is a challenge, I love a challenge.'
A professional boxer by trade, Michael said he was blindsided by Adriana's dedication to ping back into shape for this year's show.
'Adriana has the mind of a fighter. She's extremely competitive, she always likes to be at the best of her game,' he said in the joint interview.
'So I don't feel that it's a challenge for me at all. I put the challenge out there and she always accepts it.'
