Miss Universe 2012 is the 61st Miss Universe pageant, and will be held on December 19, 2012 in PH Live at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Leila Lopes from Angola will crown her successor at the end of the event. 89 countries and territories are expected to participate in this year pageant and broadcasted live in participant countries and teritorries by NBC, Telemundo & the international broadcasters.

Chantal Zaky was born in Hempstead New York USA to a Jamaican Mother and American Father. With parents who love to travel, Chantal and her family spent much of her childhood seeing the world and embracing different cultures. Her biggest passion in life is education and treatment for patients with HIV/AIDS. Chantal’s hobbies include traveling, sports, and swimming in the ocean. One day, she hopes to have a career in Broadcast Media and Journalism. She currently resides in Kingston, Jamaica.
HOMETOWN: Sendai City
Ayako Hara was raised in Sendai City, Japan. Ayako loves sports, and has played tennis for 12 years. Her other interests include cooking, and partaking in Japanese traditions such as Japanese Tea Ceremony and Japanese Incense Ceremony. Currently, Ayako works as a model.
Sung-hye Lee is from Seoul, Korea. Sung-Hye enjoys both sports and arts (she is proficient in violin, cello, o-go-mu (Korean traditional dance) and she is studying at Parsons The New School of Design with the dream of one day becoming a prominent CEO in the fashion sector. Thanks to her father, who is a doctor, Sung-Hye was able to travel around the world, serving for those in need. These experiences led Sung-Hye to develop a passion for helping those in need.
Rina Chibany grew up in the small city of Zahle, Lebanon, with her parents and twin sister. She has been an active swimmer for 18 years. Her other hobbies include painting and reading. Currently, Rina is studying Interior Architecture, so that one day she can achieve her dream job of owning an interior design company.
Greta grew up in Siauliai, Lithuania. She spent summers with her cousins and grandmother enjoying nature and the village air. Greta most recently attended College of Vilnius to study Dance Pedagogy. Her dream job is to open a dance studio and become a choreographer.
Born and raised in Penang, Kimberley Leggett’s interests growing up included sports, travel, nutrition and fitness. She enjoys running, and even used to sprint for the state of Penang. Currently, Kimberley is a student at Taylor’s University is Malaysia, and hopes to eventually transfer to UCLA in the United States.
Ameeksha grew up in Curepipe, Mauritius, which is situated on the central plateau of the island. During her college years, she played soccer on her college team for 6 years. Ameeksha has a law degree and would like to later go on to become a politician. She will soon start concentrating on her Bar Vocational Practice to become a barrister to serve her nation. Ameeksha's dream is to eventually work as either a Minister of Education or Minister of Sports & Leisure for her home country of Mauritius.
Karina Gonzalez grew up in the city of Aguascalientes where her and her cousins would spend quality time at her grandmother’s. Karina’s dream in life is to become a famous and esteemed architect, so she can improve construction from an ecological standpoint. Karina also enjoys modeling.
Andrea Radonjic grew up in Montenegro with her parents and two younger sisters. Her dream in life is to become a famous model, but currently, she is working as a journalist and completing a degree in Law at the National University of Montenegro.
sakana Nkandih hopes to one day become the first female President of Namibia, because, through this role, she would be able to battle her country's internal socio-economic issues and strive to empower women. Her strongest passion is reading. She also enjoys volunteering with animals and gardening. Currently, she is attending The University of Namibia in order to gain a degree in Public Management.
Nathalie den Dekker aspires to become a human rights lawyer, and eventually use her background to conduct field research as a university professor. Nathalie grew up on a mushroom farm owned by her father in a small village in the south of the Netherlands, with a close knit community. Her hobbies include reading, spending time with family, and swimming.
Talia Bennett grew up in her home of Takapuna, Auckland. She spent her childhood on the beaches of her town, running and taking walks by the lakes. With a mother from Italy and a father from Maori descent, she had a very diverse and eclectic upbringing. She is currently pursuing a career in Commercial Property Development. She also hopes to work closely with Retirement/ Age Care Facilities throughout New Zealand one day.
Farah Eslaquit grew up in a small town in Nicaragua. Farah starts each day with a morning workout to wake up and have more energy throughout the day. She also enjoys traveling to the beach and spending time with her family. Farah is currently studying to obtain a degree in Strategic Marketing, and hopes to one day own a worldwide recognized fashion magazine.
HOMETOWN: Cross River State
Isabella was raised in Ikom Local Government Area of the Cross River State. It is a largely agricultural area. Being raised by a widowed mother, Isabella has a passion for working with widows. She would love to work to create a small scale business to help raise money for scholarships for their children, home renovations and other basic needs.
Sara Nicole Anderson moved from Iran to Norway at the age of 4. She enjoys working out and loves both animals and fashion. Accordingly, Sara spends time volunteering at animal shelters, and working at fashion related companies. Her career ambition is to become a successful psychologist.
