She's just 23 years old, but Taylor Swift is already the proud recipient of six Grammy awards, eleven American Music Awards and 13 BMI prizes, thanks to her incredible skill when it comes to songwriting.
And now Taylor, who is famous for using her past relationships to inspire her tracks, has opened up about how she sits down and writes a song during an in-depth interview on CBS Show 60 Minutes.
Taylor's interview came as her current boyfriend Harry Styles jetted back to the UK from Utah after the pair enjoyed a romantic minibreak ahead of spending Christmas apart.
'There's the I know we can't be together but I miss you right now, there's the sadness tinged with anger, there's the sadness that has guilt with it, there's the sadness that has a little bit of hope that he'll come back.
'That's why emotions are so beautiful to write about because they all sound so different to me.'
But right now, Taylor won't be using a relationship breakdown to inspire future songs as she is happily dating One Direction star Harry.
The pretty blonde singer told 60 Minutes host Lesley Stahl that she always tries to draw upon emotions she has experienced for her songs, because she thinks people can relate to them more if they are based on personal experience.
She said: 'My songs are always inspired by emotions. I break down emotions into like 50 million categories and one big category is sadness.'
Going on to explain what kinds of sadness she has experienced during her tender years of dating, Taylor said: 'There's the missing-him kind of sadness. There's the frustrated-and-confused, don't-know-why-it-ended kind of sadness...
After the pair were spotted enjoying a lunch together in the Park City resort last week, fans took to Twitter to keep each other updated about the pair's activities.
And, according to reports, Taylor and Harry spent their evening ahead of leaving Utah in a hot tub where they were staying.
One holidaymaker tweeted: 'Harry was holding hands with tswift. I saw him first in hot tub outside my condo then on the streets downtown.'
