Never had you down as a Directioner, Ma'am! Queen is treated to a special show by One Direction at Royal Variety Performance

Main attraction: One Direction performed especially for the Queen During her time on the throne, Queen Elizabeth II has seen many things - from the spectacular to the tragic. But it's unlikely she's ever seen a boyband create quite as much a stir as One Direction. Tonight, at the Royal Variety Performance, she was treated to a special performance from the dreamy fivesome as they took to the stage in her honour.
Making their entrance: One Direction were also among the headliners and appeared through the audience Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson took to the stage in smart suits to sing their latest single, Little Things. The track, taken from their new album, is the current UK number one, so for Her Majesty and her guests seeing it performed live must have been extra special. People sitting on the aisle were also treated to a chance to ogle the boys up close, as they strode confidently to the stage to take their place on glowing stools.
Taking their places: Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry sat on lit up stools as they sang their hearts out There was royalty in the audience so Girls Aloud of course ensured they were dressed in their glamorous best at the Royal Variety Performance on Monday evening. Cheryl Cole led the girls on stage and unlike their usual skimpy get-ups they dressed appropriately for the high caliber crowd as they all covered up in floorlength gowns. They stepped on stage at the lavish Royal Albert Hall to give it their all in one of their first live performances since reuniting again.
